It's Gonna Be The Future Soon

Sci-Fi Gene is looking forward to these films:

Tron Legacy: a no-brainer. Even if this film had no dialogue, no characters, no plot and was just a two hour fly-through of the virtual city I would still watch it twice.
Titanic 2: A hundred years after the fateful voyage of the Titanic, a replica ship is retracing the original route when a freak storm throws a giant iceberg into it's path. You can add your own jokes about going down in history, sinking without trace, cold reception etc. here as much as you like, I still want to see this Asylum classic.

Predators: open. I wasn't a fan of the original Predator which was well made but kind of a one-trick pony. However this film, set on the Predator homeworld, looks like a different kettle of fish. Also, has anyone noticed that when hamsters yawn they look like Predators?

Inception: opening now. Leonardo DiCaprio narrowly missed out on the lead role for Titanic 2, instead opting to appear in this potentially mind-blowing film made by the director of The Prestige.

Splice: Looks like a brilliant tale of genetic engineering. Sadly I missed this one at Sci-Fi London but hope to catch it on release.

Mega Python vs Gatoroid: just entering production now so a little further into the future, this is the film that will re-unite 80s singers and monster slayers Debbie Gibson and Tiffany.

Even „cats” are predators by nature and this behavior is instinctive .. but, I had 3 hamsters long ago and indeed when they yawn looked exactilly like this one form your video. Cute – smiles.

Hamsters eyes look like there popping out. They have somewhat like eagle vision so they can look everywhere for predators.

*List of films mentioned by you is very cool, except..you know already witch one...
You didn’t see yet "Splice"..

Inception looks like it will be really interesting. I'm curious to see how Nolan handles certain themes.

One is the use of dreams, which seems related to surrealism. I'm also curious to see how he approaches the theme of ideation as well - especially given that inception sounds like a (possible double) play on the word conception.

I'm hoping that he won't handle these themes in a trite way and for an overall intriguing success from this film.

Not my video! but I do have a hamster that frequently does Predator yawns. It's good to hear that hamsters have evolved to seek out and fight Predators, perhaps this is the twist ending of the new movie...

Agree about Inception, I'm also hoping for something that plays with these themes in an intelligent way. I think the odds are fair.

Good to hear from you both!

Hey Gene,

Did I here someone say TRON?! I will watch it 12 times, even if it turns my brain into cottage cheese.

Inception is the next movie I'd like to see, too bad Arnie Grape's in it.
(DiCaprio's first and best role - in my opinion)

NEWay, Nice post as usual.

Sofia when I come to your first sci-fi blockbuster premiere please please please let it not be an Asylum SyFy original! You can do those later when you're so famous it won't harm your reputation. For now, Imagine Greater...

Or, if you like, come over to the UK and we'll make Titanic III: Goin' With The Floe.
