Science fiction themes have led to some inspired music videos recently, including Gabriella Cilmi's silly but stylish "On A Mission" and two works of genius featuring those Black Eyed Peas - "Rock Your Body" and "Meet Me Halfway."
Here's my current favourite music video, "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart." by Alicia Keys. I've got a soft spot for anyone who knows how to use a piano, and this is a gorgeous song. I also think the video is very well made and has a strong story. The superhero theme was apparently inspired by Hancock but there are also references to The Matrix and X-Men - and Alicia rides a Tron cycle!

Anything with a light-cycle has my vote!
It’s kind of a sad ending to the video. It does give new meaning to the term “having the Midas touch". It’s such a bummer being a superhero, don’t you think?

Your tastes in this post are delicious. The guys from Black Eyed Peas and especialy my „weakness” Fergie even whith that change of look even makes her appearing more interesting.
And Will.I.Am (what a crazy nickname!) is a very taf guy.
On the other hand Gabriela Cilmi is a piece of cake,sweety - I really like her since the beginning. She has a nice voice. I recomand another song of her. : P

Well, well, well - Alicia is a combination of .. mmm .. how could I say ...I think best suits her is
SUPERWOMAN (she has a song that is titled so). Lightning, beloved , spiled and respected by she’s fans for her incredible talent and the way she look.
Few days ago at the opening of football World Cup in Africa - I think it she looks quite ok even if she’s pregnant, and even if paparazzi are ...(blah-blah-blah)

Thanks for the comments. I'll try and find links for the Black Eyed Peas videos as well & put them in a future post. Superheroes do seem to be getting a raw deal these days - the X-Men, the Incredibles and the Watchmen getting particularly short shrift from the general public. Don't they have a union?
It occurred to me, I'm not all that excited about the plans for yet another Superman reboot movie. I think the only thing that could save it (at least for me) is if they cast Alicia Keys as Superman. Someone should start a petition or a Facebook group.
Fergie is amazing. Listen to her solo singles and then Meet Me Halfway. It's hard to believe it is the same artist, and if the comments on the youtube video are to be believed I'm not the only person to think so. Talented and versatile.
